Item images in IC11 option, has anyone used this? If so, is this helpful, used by end users in RQC ?

Hi Sheri, I've used this feature before and it is HUGE satisfier for Requesters. Building them in Infor/Lawson has been made simpler throughout the years (there is some cool stuff you can do with IPA too!), but it still requires you acquiring the pictures and matching them to your item master. Also, it does need an internal process for maintenance, and it goes without saying it is important to cover during training otherwise Requesters might not even notice all your hard work!

As Stephanie said - it requires quite a bit of maintenance - we used a text to jpg converter and the "image" is of the full unabbreviated description. Our users like it quite well.

Great, thanks for the responses, I may have other questions as we work thru this.

This seems like a great idea. Where in IC11 do we have that option? I do not see it.

              Hello,

At my previous place we used it and as others have mentioned users really liked it but it does require quite a bit of maintenance and some periodic reminding that its there. To start off we asked our distributer to creat a file with our item numbers attached to each JPG. We then asked for assistance from Don Peterson at Infor to help creat an add-in to load them. It was a nice jump start for us to add about 2500 routine items. I have since heard thay they lost interest in keeping the project going because the usage didnt warrant the upkeep.

We have even modified the item search results page in RQC to now show a camera icon if the item has a picture. This lets our requisitioners know which item have images before wasting time opening the item detail. Something to consider based on javascript knowledge.

It's under attachments in IC11. I have some detail if you'd like just email me at skowal@rpic.com, I'd be happy to share.

right click on the item number in IC11. select attachments, then URL to add an item image. i suggest a naming standard, for us we use item number.jpg in lower case. it makes it easier to maintain.

In IC11, select an item, inquire, right click on the item number/field, select attachments and add URL.

Please confirm for me what version you are working in where the image feature is available.

It may have been there as early as 8 - it was part of our SEA to RSS conversion. We're on 9.01 currently.

can anyone offer some assistance on how to load the url to ic11?  we recently upgraded and moved to the cloud so our urls all changed.  we have about 3000 images that need updated and looking for an easy way to do this quickly

Infor offers some self contained workbooks you can configure and utilize.  Otherwise I'd say your IT team can write a script to update this detail for you.

I have some other documents but it won't let me attach them on here.  Just email me at skowal@rpic.com if you have any interest.
