I am trying to set up criteria on an employee group (HR55.3) using specific job codes without having to include each one individually. This particular group ends with a specific letter (Q). I've tried to include
asterisks (*Q) or (*Q*). What am I missing? Is there a way to do this?

To the best of my knowledge, you can't.
The best you can do is use add-ins to add each code unless a range works.

I agree with Margie, the job codes would have to be in a range... so it would have worked if they all started with "Q". I thought you might be able to create a job code user field and use that in the group, but HR55 does not recognize the user fields as selection criteria. If you can "borrow" one of the fields on HR06, that also shows up in the "JC" topic on HR55, you can put a value in that field and use that for your group.

Another option is to use job class. But if you ever change a job class, you will need to check the groups using job class to be sure you don't have unintended consequences and update the groups accordingly.

Thanks to all who answered. I do have add ins reports (and our job class fields is being used for something else).
Would be nice to have Job Class set ups like Pay Class so that you could attached a job code to multiple job classes!

There is a position class that works like that. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be selectable in HR55. At least I did not see it. If you add an enhancement request, I would endorse it.
